Q:
At the time of 9/11, I weighed 265 lbs. as a 45 year old male at 5'9". Through juice fasting two days and low-carb 5 days/week, I dropped down to 219. I gained back to 235 after stopping the regimin by Christmas 2001. Then I hit the gym and resumed the same eating plan in August 2002, and got down to 202 by June 2003. I moved to Chicago that summer and joined Life Time Fitness, but have had trouble getting into a new routine. I am back to around 215 and would like to get down to 180#. What suggestions do you have about me going at this "3rd stage' of effort to get from 265 to 180 (or whatever 10% bodyfat is for me). Can I lift everyday? Should I get off the machines (which are no learning curve for me) and on to free weights? What is Free Motion? I hope you can give me guidance. Thanks When I work out, I do it with vigor, running up to 5 miles on a treadmill and hitting the machines every day I am in there (5-6 days a week).

I recentally had my fitness assestment done and found out that I am not one bit flexible. I am wondering what kinds of stretches/ workouts can I do on my own to increase my flexibility. I really feel uncomfortable going to group fitness classes right now so anything I can do on my own would be great. Also the body-4-life program is awesome I have totally changed my life around and I have lost 18 pds in 6 weeks!!
